We're Hiring - Silverdale Junior Rugby Coordinator


Silverdale United Rugby Club is the largest Junior Club in NZ

With over 750 players, not to mention coaches, managers and referees one can imagine its quite a complex beast to keep the ship sailing in the right direction.

The Junior club is governed by a Director of Junior Rugby and managed by a very hardworking group of parent volunteers who form the Junior Committee.

Behind the scenes, although actually front and centre of the action, the club employs a "Junior Rugby" Coordinator / Manager. For the past year this role has been filled by club legend, coastie, parent, committee member and a jack of all trades "Myka Copeland". Sadly for us Myka has decided to move on and we are committed to finding a replacement..

  • It is our plan to full this vacancy very quickly as we are about to embark on a hectic season in just 2 weeks.
  • The candidate will be expected to learn on the Job, especially in the busy few months ahead.  have a degree of flexibility around times and of course a passion for Sports administration; the good and the bad parts of it.
  • This might be a great opportunity for a recent Sports graduate or a parent reentering into the work place and looking for a degree of flexibility.
  • FT or Part time options will be considered from 20-40 hours per week
  • Rate of pay 30 Per hour
  • Reporting to - Director of Junior Rugby, Club Manager
  • Skills that would be helpful include; being organised, communicating efficiently via email, knowledge of Sports It Systems and excel as well as the ability to multi-task.
  • From a people-skills perspective the candidate will be required to deal with parents, committee members and Harbour Rugby amongst other key stake holders.
