Lead operations, build community, and grow the game at New Zealand’s largest rugby club.

Are you a dynamic, self-starting leader with a passion for sport and community? Do you thrive in fast-paced, people-focused environments where no two days are the same? Silverdale United Rugby & Sports Club is looking for a talented Club Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and drive our vision to be New Zealand’s leading community-based sports club.

About Us

With over 1,000 members and the largest junior rugby programme in both North Harbour and New Zealand, Silverdale United Rugby & Sports Club is a powerhouse of community sport. Our values – Diversity, Ambition, Loyalty, and Enjoyment – shape everything we do, from grassroots development to senior performance.

We pride ourselves on our strong club culture, engaged membership, and wide-reaching impact across the Hibiscus Coast and beyond.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Club Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the club
  • Managing a diverse team of staff and contractors across events, facilities, and communications
  • Building and maintaining sponsor, council, and stakeholder relationships
  • Supporting rugby development and promoting participation across all grades
  • Delivering smooth execution of club events, competitions, and community programmes
  • Ensuring compliance, financial health, and continuous improvement across all club functions

This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to directly influence the success of hundreds of junior and senior players every week.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • A background in sport management, club leadership, or community development
  • Strong business acumen and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
  • A can-do, proactive attitude with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience working with volunteers, sponsors, and community stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for rugby and grassroots sport

Bonus points if you know what makes community rugby tick — but more important is your ability to lead with heart and drive outcomes that benefit our people and our place.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a well-established, respected, and growing club
  • Lead a values-driven organisation that changes lives through sport
  • Enjoy a diverse, rewarding, and community-facing role
  • See the impact of your work every weekend as over 800 junior players take the field
