Silverdale’s homegrown talent – along with a few high-profile additions – are making their mark in North Harbour colours.

Silverdale Rugby Club continues to prove it’s more than just a place to play – it’s a launchpad for representative rugby.

This season, the North Harbour NPC squad features Premiers co-captain Tom Barham in the midfield. Joining him is explosive hooker Chyle Van Zyl, and although sidelined for now, Blues star Cam Christie is working hard to return for the back end of the Harbour season.

The Silverdale connection runs even deeper, with two North Harbour imports – Ben Brownlee (Leinster) and Tom Hendrickson (Kintetsu Liners) – pledging to pull on the Silverdale jersey if they remain in New Zealand for 2026.

In the North Harbour Development team, several homegrown talents are stepping up and pushing for higher honours. Chris Finau (hooker) was immense during the season and came close to NPC selection before injury struck. Shaun Neilson has been a revelation in his first year at prop – the converted No. 8 boasting the size, skill, and potential to go to the next level. Max Hutchings has been bossing the lineout all year, and at just 20, is one of the younger guns in the squad. Taylor Norwood has delivered match-winning moments from halfback in one of Harbour’s most competitive positions. Tom Taula returns for another year on the wing, and Angus Henare (fullback/wing) was another unlucky to miss NPC selection due to injury.
