Date and Location:
- Saturday 20th September 2025, Silverdale Rugby Club
- Games start at 9:00am and will be completed by 4:00pm latest
Eligibility:
- All players must meet the North Harbour Junior rugby regulations for age and weight. Male players cannot be attending secondary school (Year 9 upwards) *Link to Harbour Rugby Rules.
- (Year 9 & 10 Female players are eligible to play U15 Girls Rippa)
- Every team must include a 2025 Small Blacks accredited Referee familiar with the grade your team is entering
Grades:
- Tens Tackle Grades: J1 (Under 13’s), J2 (Under 12’s), J3 (Under 11’s), J4 (Under 10’s)
- Girls Rip 7’s: Girls Rip (U15), Girls Rip (U13), Girls Rip (U11)
Registration and Payment Info / Weigh In:
- All teams must Enter Online – CLICK HERE
- All players must be registered in Rugby Xplorer.
- All registration fees must be paid in full by 12th September
- Team Sheets, including DOB must be completed by Friday 12th September
- Weigh-in takes place on the morning 1 hour before the team’s game.
- $250 per team
- Payment can be made via the registration page or, if paying via direct transfer, please make one payment per team – to 02-1298-0090292-50 (please put “JNR Tens” or “JNR Sevens” and your team name as reference).
Dispensations
- Any players that have been dispensated by their provincial union to play up or down a grade can still play with their team at the festival, as long as they meet the weight requirement.
- Maximum of 2 dispensated players per squad
- Maximum of 1 dispensated per team on the field during play
- Dispensated players cannot be used to dominate play or team tactics. I.e. lead rushes from free kicks or penalties.
- Any players weighing in over the weight cap will be classed as your dispensated players. This means you can only have one of these players on the field at a time.
- Teams must rotate dispensated players if more than one is present; these players should play only half a game each, subbing at halftime.
Format:
- Each Grade, dependant on number of entries will play a “round robin” ensuring all teams play a minimum of 4 games on the day.
Abbreviated Game Rules:
- J1 (u13’s), J2 (u12’s) Full Field
- J3 (U11’s), J4 (U10’s), Girls Rip (U15, 13 & 11) – Half Field
- 10’s Tackle: each squad must have a minimum of 12 players
- 7’s Rip: 10 players minimum for Girls Rip
- 10-minute halves - 2-minute half-time break
- Half game rules apply for all players
- Conversions drop kick – J3, J4 in front of post. All others up to 15m (conversion must be taken within 40 seconds).
- Scrums J3, J4 uncontested. J1, J2 contested. Backlines back 5m. Halfback must not pass the tunnel
- Lineouts – non contested, no lifting. Backlines back 10m
- Kick offs – scoring team kicks off
- Tackles – below sternum
- Penalties – Opposition back 10m
- Ball – J3, J4 and Girls U11 size 3. J1, J2 and Girls U13/15 size 4
- Mouthguards are mandatory for all players
- Each team referee will manage one half of each game
